Apple’s current main U.S. iPhone store lineup has moved on from the iPhone 17 Pro generation following the iPhone 18 Pro announcement. Here is what changed, what Apple officially confirmed about the new Pro models, and what current owners should consider before upgrading.
Apple announced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, 2026. Apple’s current U.S. “Shop iPhone” page now highlights iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone 16 — but not iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max. MacRumors reports that Apple discontinued the two 17 Pro models after the new Pro announcement.
That does not mean every iPhone 17 Pro instantly disappears from sale. Third-party stores, carriers and some regional Apple pages can still have remaining inventory or cached product pages. Buyers should therefore distinguish discontinued from Apple’s current lineup from unavailable everywhere.
The previous Pro generation used A19 Pro and a 48 MP Pro Fusion camera system. Apple’s earlier product information listed 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes and up to 39 hours of video playback for the larger configuration.
Best reason to consider one now: a strong remaining-stock discount from a trustworthy seller.
Apple says the new generation uses A20 Pro, a 48 MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, a smaller Dynamic Island, next-generation vapor chamber cooling, iOS 27, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI.
Apple lists starting U.S. prices from $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for iPhone 18 Pro Max.
